The Gulf Coast Kiln Walk Society (GCKWS) was honored to host master ceramic artist Chris Gustin. He came to fire in the Society's kilns and to meet, participate and share his knowledge with potters and other artists at Gulf Coast Kiln Walk as the Featured artist for the 17th Annual WoodStoke Festival.

Mr. Gustin is Professor Emeritus, at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Chris has exhibited, lectured and taught workshops in the United States, Caribbean, South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He has received two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, and three Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellowships. He is also co-founder of the Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts in Maine.

The Anagama kiln is the largest in the state of Florida, and the Ralph Howard Phillips Southern Groundhog kiln is the only 1940-s era wood-fueled kiln in the state.
